Japan holds one of the ten permanent government seats on the ILO Governing Body as a State of Chief Industrial Importance.

  2. Supporting the definition and extension of a social protection floor (SPF) in Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands

    The project aims to support Solomon Islands and Vanuatu to develop progressively comprehensive social protection systems. The Social Protection Floor (SPF) Recommendation provides guidance to member countries in building nationally defined social protection floors which aim at providing health care and minimum income security throughout the life cycle.

  3. ILO/Japan Fund for Building Social Safety Nets in Asia and the Pacific (SSN Fund)

    The SSN Fund aims to broaden the use of social safety nets through a wide range of projects to extend existing social security systems, promote occupational safety and health (OSH), develop human resources, strengthen labour inspection, eliminate forced labour and foster entrepreneurship. The Fund also responds to natural disasters by implementing crisis response activities in the affected areas to support disaster recovery.
