    Decent Work for displaced people: Lessons from the experiences of Venezuelan Migrant and Refugee workers in Colombia and Brazil

    Currently, all workers in Colombia and Brazil are facing enormous challenges to organize themselves at the workplace. For refugee and migrant workers without higher education or professional credentials, the obstacles are even greater. In response to this situation, Venezuelan migrant workers and their allies are beginning to organize in labour unions and civil associations to promote decent work in both informal and low-wage formal sectors.

    COVID-19 appeal update: ILO’s Response to the Venezuelan Displacement Crisis

    Within the framework of the Regional Refugees and Migrants Response Plan (RMRP), the ILO has launched an appeal to its funding partners to support the response to the unprecedented refugees and migrants crisis in the Latin American region. The ILO leads on Socioeconomic Integration for the inter-agency response for Venezuelan refugees and migrants and has developed a comprehensive intervention strategy in coordination with UNDP, IOM and UNHCR

    Cooperation initiative between Turkey and Colombia will foster capacities for access to decent work for all during and beyond COVID-19

    Decent work is the root of social cohesion and the catalyst for employment opportunities and social protection as well as an essential response to the COVID-19 pandemic. With this in mind, the ILO facilitated two webinars on labour market governance, inclusive employment policies and access to social protection within the framework of the “South-south triangular cooperation (SSTC) initiative between Turkey and Colombia”.
