    The occupational safety and health fact sheets and videos depict safe working practices related to specific hazards found on the farm, at motor vehicle repair shops and at the wood workshop. These fact sheets and videos are aimed at employers and workers in micro and small enterprises including those in the informal economy. Following the information and advice contained in the fact sheets and videos will assist in ensuring that those working in these sectors remain safe and healthy.

    ILO's role and response to the 2014 Ebola outbreak

    The unprecedented 2014 Ebola virus disease (EVD) outbreak poses serious health risks for workers in various occupations and has had a significant occupational mortality, especially among health care workers. These casualties add to the global shortage of health workers, which particularly affects the countries experiencing this outbreak. Within its mandate, the ILO is collaborating with the World Health Organization (WHO) in specific activities to address important occupational safety and health and other issues arising out of this outbreak in relation to the world of work.

    Work Improvement in Neighbourhood Development

    The present manual is a distillation of seven years of WIND experience, drawn principally from farmers' own initiatives to improve the quality of their lives and work. It has been drafted by Dr Ton That Khai, Director of the Cantho Centre for Occupational Health and Environment, in collaboration with Dr Tsuyoshi Kawakami, Specialist on Occupational Safety and Health in the ILO East Asia Multidiscilinary Advisory Team. Thanks are due to the many Vietnamese and international specialists who provided valuable comments for improving the contents, especially Ms Doan Minh Hoa, Mr Hoang Van Hung and their staff from the Department of Labour Protection of the Ministry of Labour Invalids and Social Affairs, Dr Nguyen Thi Hong Tu and her staff from the Department of Preventive Medicine of the Ministry of Health, Dr Nguyen Ngoc Nga of the National Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health, and Dr Kazutaka Kogi of the Institute for the Science of Labour of Kawasaki, Japan.
