The Venezuelan displacement is the largest human displacement in the history of Latin America and the Caribbean and the second largest in the world. At a roundtable in Brussels, the ILO presented the main advances and challenges faced by host countries in the socio-economic integration process of the Venezuelans.

Well over five million Venezuelans have become refugees and migrants in recent years, the majority of whom are living in neighbouring countries in Latin America.

Appeal: Venezuelan refugees and migrants in Latin America and the Caribbean

Within the framework of the Regional Refugees and Migrants Response Plan (RMRP), the ILO is launching an appeal to its development partners to support the response to the unprecedented refugees and migrants crisis that the Latin American region. The ILO is leading the inter-agency response on socio-economic integration of Venezuelan migrants and refugees, and has developed this comprehensive intervention strategy with IOM, FAO and OAS.
