  1. Raising awareness on the cooperative model among coffee farmers in Lao PDR

    Facilitators were trained on the cooperative model including its principles, values, structure, function and related legislation and policies to then train 400 coffee producers in villages of Dak Cheung district in Lao PDR.

  2. Tackling decent work decifits in Indonesia’s palm oil sector with collective bargaining agreements

    The ILO supports labour-management cooperation in the palm oil sector in Indonesia with the signing of collective bargaining agreements in 31 companies in Sumatra and Kalimantan.

    Integration of decent work in the development of agri-food value chains

    At an Evaluation meeting organized by the Belgian Development Cooperation, the ILO shared insights on the promotion of decent work in agricultural value chains in low-income countries.

  4. ILO-IOM join forces to better protect Indonesian migrant workers in the palm oil sector

    To better protect the labour rights of potential Indonesian migrant workers, the ILO and IOM jointly develop pre-departure training modules and relevant informational materials for palm oil sector in Indonesia-Malaysia Corridor.

    The #CoffeePeople campaign, launched on International Coffee Day, urges collaboration between governments, employers, workers' organizations, and the private sector to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for the millions of coffee workers worldwide.

  6. EU and UN agencies join forces to address root causes of child labour

    A new EU-funded action will tackle the root causes of child labour in supply chains, focusing primarily on coffee and leveraging existing efforts on cobalt. Under the leadership of the ILO, the project will be jointly implemented with FAO and UNICEF, in collaboration with the International Trade Centre (ITC).

  7. First training of trainers’ workshop on Think.Coop and Start.Coop for the aquaculture sector held in Lima

    The ILO and UNIDO organized a regional training of trainers’ workshop on the adaptation of ILO’s Think.Coop and Start.Coop tools to the aquaculture sector in the ILO Office in Lima, Peru, on 21-25 August, 2023.

    Experts agree new guidelines to promote decent work in the agri-food sector

    More than one billion workers will benefit from the guidelines, which are based on the ILO’s instruments and Decent Work Agenda.

    The ILO organized a Think.COOP training programme in Paksong, Champasack province, Lao PDR for tea and coffee farmer groups and staff from Attapeu Department of Industry and Commerce.
