    Regional meeting on "Women in Mining: women for a more inclusive mining future in Africa"

    The ILO Regional Office for Africa (ROAF) and the Sectoral Policies Department (SECTOR) are jointly organizing a regional meeting on “Women in Mining: women for a more inclusive mining future in Africa”, in Dakar, Senegal, from 17 to 19 July 2023. The meeting aims to generate consensus and support for concrete actions to promote gender equality and decent work for women, and address the challenges they face in large and small-scale mining in Africa.

  2. Sectoral Advisory Bodies 2023

    At its session in January 2023, the SABs are requested to make recommendations on global sectoral meetings to be held in the biennium 2024–25, and on preparatory work for sectoral meetings in future biennia.

  3. Sectoral Advisory Bodies 2021

    The Sectoral Advisory Bodies (SABs), composed of tripartite constituents engaged in economic sectors, were established at the 298th Session of the ILO Governing Body (March 2007) to review sectoral developments and to make recommendations to the ILO's constituents on priorities for sectoral work. Sessions of the SABs are held every two years, and they are chaired by a representative of the Government group of the Governing Body. Following the session held in January 2021 the SABs are to make recommendations on sectoral meetings to be held in the biennium 2022–23 and on preparatory work for sectoral meetings in future biennia. These recommendations will be submitted to the Governing Body at its 341st session in March 2021.

  4. ASGM Technical Working Group Consultation and Planning Workshop

    The artisanal small-scale gold mining (ASGM) sector will have a consultation meeting to assess the present state of ASGM operations in the country, toward recommending legislative changes to address its issues and concerns, and formulating a medium-term National Action Plan to ensure a sustainable response.

  5. ILO-CARING Gold Mining Project Communication Strategies Workshop

    Key partners of the ILO-CARING Gold Mining Project will meet to discuss and look into potential information and communication strategies to contribute to the improvement of the knowledge, attitude and practices of the Project's target ASGM populations and stakeholders. Inputs from this consultation meeting and workshop will be used substantially in developing the Project's Strategic Communication and Advocacy Plan.

  6. 5th National Artisanal Small-Scale Gold Mining (ASGM) Summit

    The International Labour Organization (ILO) in partnership with Ban Toxics will hold a national ASGM summit that will bring together local stakeholders on ASGM in the Philippines. The event will include a study launch, presentations and discussions on ASGM and the gold supply chain and will highlight the voices of child labourers and miners.

  7. Trade Union Workshop on Just Transition Guidelines of ILO for Sustainable Economies and Societies for All: Trade Union Agenda and Proposals for Social Dialogue in Mining Sector

    The training workshop is aimed at building technical capacities of workers’ organizations in the Philippines on “Just Transition Guidelines of ILO for Sustainable Economies & Societies for All: Trade Union agenda and proposals for social dialogue in mining sector”.

  8. Generation Safe and Healthy Children’s Summit

    The ILO Caring Gold Project, funded by the United States Department of Labor, will bring the World Day against Child Labour in Camarines Norte to address child labour and to promote decent work, including occupational safety and health in small-scale gold mines. Over 250 children, parents and partners will join the campaign and children’s summit.

  9. Philippine Fashion Week: Compassionate Gold Brand Launch

    Innovative solutions are crucial to address child labour and to promote decent work in small-scale gold mines. The ILO Caring Gold Project, funded by the United States Department of Labor, and implemented with BAN Toxics, will launch the Compassionate Gold brand in partnership with the Philippine Fashion Week. Compassionate Gold ensures responsible mining practices.
