  2. Decent Work Country Programme for Somalia 2023 - 2025

    The Somalia Decent Work Country Programme 2023-2025is the product of an extensive consultative and participatory process with the ILO tripartite constituents, i.e., the Government, employers and workers. The DWCP 2023-2025 outlines the policy direction, strategies, and anticipated results through prioritised work areas during this period that will contribute to the country’s attainment of Decent Work. In recent years, with significant international community support, Somalia has made good progress in its institutional and economic reconstruction efforts. The DWCP aims to build upon the substantial gains made by the Federal Government and the Federal Member States to promote growth and development of the economy at national and state levels.

  3. Decent Work Country Programme for South Sudan 2023 - 2025

    The International Labour Organization (ILO) and its constituents in South Sudan, namely the Ministry of Labour (MoL), South Sudan Workers Trade Union Federation (SSWTUF) and Employers Association of South Sudan (EASS) have been engaging and consulting towards development of the country’s first-generation DWCP since 2011. A draft DWCP was developed in 2013 but its validation and finalization were halted by political conflict, which erupted in December 2013. The process was reactivated in April 2015, culminating in a series of stakeholder engagements and ILO technical missions. The renewed efforts yielded a revised draft DWCP that was validated by tripartite partners in November 2015.

  1. National Alliance 8.7 Strategic Road Map 2023 - 2030

    Alliance 8.7 is a global partnership fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration to support governments to achieve Target 8.7 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Target 8.7 calls for “immediate and effective measures to eradicate forced labour, end modern slavery and human trafficking and secure the prohibition and elimination of the worst forms of child labour, including recruitment and use of child soldiers, and by 2025 end child labour in all its forms”. Some 231 organizations including government institutions, workers’ organizations, employers’ organizations, civil society organizations, and UN specialized agencies, funds and programmes, amongst others, are Alliance 8.7 partners.

    This research is the result of a collaborative effort between the ILO Egypt Country Office and the Economic Research Forum (ERF). It discusses the findings and implications of an experiment that assessed employer discrimination by sex and marital status for online job postings in Egypt.
