Seminar on Sustainable Development in Postal Services in the Americas

• Purpose
ILO organized two days of the event, in collaboration between SECTOR, ILOAIDS, INTEGRATION and the SRO San José, as part of the four-day seminar on environmental and economic issues, gender equality, social dialogue, HIV/AIDS and the world of work, and mainstreaming employment and decent work in postal services in the Americas.

• Participation

The seminar was attended by senior executives from the postal services of Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal and Venezuela, as well as participants from UNI Global Union. ILO presentations and subsequent group work on the topics of Gender equality at the heart of decent work, HIV/AIDS and the workplace, the Decent Work Toolkit, and Social Dialogue, were held on 8 and 9 April. ILO views were reflected in the “Social/Societal” segment of the Regional Action Plan on Sustainable Development drawn up by the participants at the end of the seminar.
